Under general supervision, you will maintain and repair a variety of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment; and perform related duties as required. We are accepting applications to fill two (2) full time *Equipment Mechanic II* vacancies in the Resource Recovery & Waste Management Division (RRWMD) of the Public Works Department in Santa Barbara, at the South Coast Recycling Transfer Station and at the Tajiguas Landfill.The Equipment Mechanic II diagnoses a range of complex equipment problems; disassembles and overhauls motors; repairs transmissions, differentials, distributors, fuel pumps, steering gear, starters, and universal joints; fabricates and alters special construction equipment; may maintain inventory and stock of spare parts; trains and assigns work to subordinates.*Employment Standards** Three years of skilled experience in repairing motor vehicles or heavy equipment, including two years of experience repairing diesel-powered heavy equipment; *OR*,* Three years of experience performing duties equivalent to the class of Equipment Mechanic I or Automotive Mechanic I with Santa Barbara County; *OR*,* A combination of training, education, and experience that is equivalent to one of the employment standards listed above and that provides the required knowledge and abilities.The County of Santa Barbara offers generous benefits, please visit our website at: https://www.countyofsb.org/3085/SEIU-Local-620.Take your mechanical expertise to new heights with our team!
