(ESAero) is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo area that provides various services, which include but are not limited to rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on development/testing, electrified aircraft propulsion expertise, and small UAS aerospace system manufacturing.Job Summary:ESAero is seeking an experienced Electrical, Mechanical, or Power Electronics Engineer to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA. This engineer will support the hardware development of high-power/voltage (> 500V) electrical propulsion system for unique all-electric and hybrid-electric aircraft configurations.?This is a multirole position that will also require candidates to be involved in all phases of design and development of novel flight platforms. The engineer for this position must demonstrate proficiency in collaborating with other engineering disciplines.Responsibilities and Duties:* Participate in all stages of research & development of electrical powertrain systems and components, including?but not limited to?development of requirements, design, prototype, test, troubleshooting,?and design revision. * Participate in the development, integration, and testing of electric traction systems for aircraft propulsion, including but not limited to: * Component level integration and testing * System design * Installation and mounting * Command and data signal interfaces * Assist in the development of system and component-level requirements and associated documentation. * Prepare engineering drawings, design specifications, interface control documents, etc. * Lead the development and execution of hardware tests for isolated items and integrated systems. * Coordinate with test team to troubleshoot issues. * Regularly report on progress to Program Manager * Directly communicate with external entities including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies Required Qualifications and Skills:* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field * 5+ years of relevant engineering experience * Experience with high voltage?(primarily DC)?power electronics hardware modeling, control, design, and analysis. * Familiarity with Permanent Magnet Machine Design, manufacturing, and testing * Experience with motor control hardware design, tuning and troubleshooting. * Experience with developing thermal management solutions for high power electrical systems * Extensive familiarity with existing relevant state-of-the-art technology * Proficiency with SolidWorks * Willing to relocate to San Luis Obispo, CA * U.S. Citizen Desired Qualifications and Skills:* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent * 7+ years of High Voltage design or relevant experience * Experience with SiC (silicon carbide), or GaN (Gallium Nitride) technologies * Experience with field bus communications protocols, e.g., CAN bus, ETHERcat, TCP/IP, Serial, etc. * Experience with integrating high voltage/power systems in electric vehicles * Experience with test instrumentation, data post processing and analysis * Familiarity with RTCA/DO-160 Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment * Familiarity with SIMULINK/MATLAB * Familiarity with Altium * Familiarity with EWIS aerospace standards, such as SAE AS50881, AC 43.13 Ch.11, ASTM F2639, etc Benefits and Perks* Standard Benefits: * Health Insurance: Several competitive plans offered with large employer contribution * Dental, Vision, & Life Insurance: Fully covered * Retirement: 401k with 3% company match * PTO & holidays * Flexible schedule * Year-end performance bonuses * Additional Perks: * Casual dress code,?free snacks,?dog friendly office * Amazing location to live, work, and play Powered by JazzHRIuyMZLXcbV
