aircraft system (UAS) development?We are seeking a Flight Control
(GNC) Engineer to fill a senior-level position within the team at
Edge Autonomy.This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at
Edge Autonomy, the leader in the small, fixed-wing Unmanned Aerial
Vehicle (UAV) industry.The successful candidate will support the
design, development, and validation of guidance, navigation, and
flight control systems. The work will encompass the modeling,
simulation, and validation testing of the flight control code. The
position will work closely with cross-functional teams (flight
control, software, electrical, aeronautical, and mechanical).Key
ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities of a Flight Control (GNC)
Engineer include, but are not limited to:---Designing and
developing guidance, navigation, and flight control algorithms for
unmanned fixed-wing and VTOL aircraft---Writing, testing, and
documenting C/C++ autopilot software code---Verifying control law
performance and troubleshooting flight control issues using 6-DOF
analysis tools, HIL simulation, and flight test data---Analyzing
customer supplied flight data to figure out what went wrong and
work out how to make it better---Generating shop and flight test
plans to explore or validate vehicle behavior---Participating in
flight test activities---Analyzing flight logs to (help) determine
the root cause of issues---Performing simulations to answer what-if
questions---Analyzing vehicle firmware and communicating with the

time.The PersonThe key skills and qualities of a Flight Control
(GNC) Engineer are:---5+ years of relevant experience developing
flight control software for fixed-wing aircraft, with demonstrated
deep understanding of fixed-wing aircraft dynamics, control
theory/design/analysis, and navigation
theory/design/analysis---Demonstrated proficiency in
C/C++---Experience working in computer model-based development of
flight control systems, including proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink or
another model-based development toolset---Strong background in
sensor fusion---Familiar with sensor and actuator characteristics
and limitations---Experience tuning PID controllers, state
estimators, signal processing, path planning---Control system
simulation, implementation, test, and verification
experience---Must understand engineering concepts, principles, and
theory and experience demonstrating the application of those
concepts---Must have strong communication, computer, documentation,
presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to work
independently and as part of a team---Experience with embedded
system development and signal processing---Experience designing and
implementing software for embedded real-time control systems for
