Enrich our communities and the environment, increasing the public's trust and confidence in nuclear power. -Diablo Canyon Power Plant (DCPP) is looking to expand the I&C / Electrical Strategic Engineering Department. Various roles and responsibilities are available within the department including medium and small voltage AC/DC equipment engineer, large electrical assets (i.e.: motors, switchgear, protective relays, Inverters, Battery chargers). - Additional roles and responsibilities may involve I&C components, instruments, and process control systems. - -Position SummaryThis is an ESC Local 20 represented exempt classification currently subject to collective bargaining. -This is a senior-level engineer job that requires mastery of the associate and journey level engineer skills and duties and is responsible for leading the engineering and design of more complex projects and tasks. You will use independent judgment in applying engineering principles and working with limited supervision. You will work with operations and maintenance personnel, engineers, project managers, and other business partners in assessing project and plant needs. -This category is for the engineer that has acquired extensive knowledge of concepts, principles and practices, and works independently with only general direction. This senior engineer provides technical direction to plant staff and completes assignments that require integration with other departments and are of broad scope and complexity. -May be required to fill a rotation in the DCPP Emergency Response Organization (ERO) as necessary. -To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening. -PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the -job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. - The actual salary paid to an individual will be -based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, -market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. - -Although we estimate -the -successful candidate hired -into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision -will be -made on a case-by-case -basis related to these factors.--- -A reasonable salary range is:---California Minimum: $---142,908California Maximum: $---183,600 - -QualificationsMinimum

  • A four-year Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited curriculum in the United States or the equivalent as defined in ANSI/ANS-3.1 - 1993
  • Mastery of the Associate and Journey level Engineer job duties and demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform the basic duties of the Senior Engineer. Meets specific technical requirements gained through a minimum of eight years of cumulative experience in engineering and related science -Desired
    • MA/MS/PHD -
    • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
    • Current and active California PE license desired, or technical equivalents for positions for which a PE/EIT is not applicable (e.g. Radiation Protection engineer, Chemistry engineer, etc.)
    • Extensive knowledge/experience of AC & DC equipment, I&C components (Ie; pressure, level, temperature)
    • Exhibits an absolute commitment to safety for self and others.
    • Investigates/analyzes assigned technical issues, with close supervision of method, progress, and resources.
    • Knowledge and experience with the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant electrical and I&C equipment
    • Working knowledge of technical evaluation and analysis techniques
    • Design and calculation qualifications
    • Independent Technical Review qualification
    • Ability to work well in a dynamic team environment
    • Ability to use human performance tools to minimize errors in response to emergent work.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated technical writing skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP - -Responsibilities
      • May perform functions of Associate and Journey level Engineers and in addition: (This list is not all-inclusive and all items may not be applicable to all sections and disciplines.)
      • Applies extensive knowledge of concepts, principles and practices in a specific discipline, field or area of expertise to resolve complex problems
      • Works independently with only general direction. Often serves as a team leader.
      • Provides technical direction to entry and journey employees
      • Completes assignments of broad scope and complexity with few precedents or standards
      • Completes assignments that require integration of information from a variety of sources
      • Leads large, complex (multi-discipline, multi-group) technical projects for DCPP
      • Perform as on-the-job (OJT)/task-performance-evaluation (TPE) evaluator as assigned.
      • Provide support to other departments in technical and engineering areas
      • Acts as a mentor for journey or associate engineers
      • Is recognized as the "expert" within specific area of expertise.
      • Identifies and implements opportunities to improve company performance (quality, performance, human factors, financial, regulatory).
      • Effectively represents PG&E at industry association, trade committee, and inter-utility work groups.
      • Contributes to the development of standards, specifications, construction documents and guidelines.
      • May lead troubleshooting to problem resolution teams#featuredjob
