Job Description:
Job Summary The Project Manager is responsible for pre-bid
take-off, estimating, project setup, project coordination, cost
information, and project management of heavy civil projects in the
public markets to meet or exceed budget, schedule, and quality
goals. Additionally, special projects and technical engineering
that contribute to the success of the Construction Division.

to choose from. Compensation $110,000 - $150,000 DOE
Salaried/Exempt Responsibilities Perform accurate and timely
quantity take-offs using AGTEK, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and manual
quantification methods Project controls to ensure compliance with
the contract, quality metrics, budget, schedule, job costing, and
forecasting Understand and interpret plans and specifications;
timely prepare RFI's for additional information Process submittals
& distribute as required; timely procure specified materials to
meet project schedule and budgetary needs Provide technical
engineering including AutoCAD drawings, engineering calculations,
and field layout Document production statistics, produce reports
and forecast projects as required Schedule and manage
subcontractor's and service providers to meet scheduling needs
Estimate and manage, concurrently at times, a high volume of
projects meeting or exceeding necessary metrics Balance field and
office duties expected on a regular basis Support other Estimator/
PM's when necessary to meet critical timelines Manage and mentor
Project Engineers for their own development and advancement
Maintain duties related to OSHA regulations, including accident
investigation and reporting, safety meetings, training, etc.;
actively engage with the employees to reinforce safe behaviors;
ensure that safety, compliance, and environmental requirements are
followed Maintain working relationships with all departments to
ensure work objectives are met Provide an environment where dynamic
communication occurs within the project team Ability and
willingness to abide by CalPortland's Core Values Develop and
manage all phases of WPCP's, SWPPP's, Traffic Control Plans, etc.
Assist the Superintendent with material procurement, rental
equipment, and dispatch of resources Assist in special projects
Education Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction
Management preferred Requirements/Qualifications 10-20 years of
experience in estimating/managing multiple heavy civil projects
Strong leadership abilities to teach, mentor, and motivate others
to achieve extraordinary results Intense desire to learn and
succeed in the Heavy Civil discipline Must be an effective leader
and strong communicator Excellent problem solving, planning, and
organizational skills Attention to detail and focus on accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Office products, AGTEK, AutoCAD, Bluebeam,
and scheduling software Valid driver's license with ability to get
to and from work Preferred: Experience in Bridge Construction,
Earthwork, and HMA Paving GPS proficiency Primavera P6 scheduling
proficiency Working knowledge in SAP Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment
physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol
testing.
