Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the HR Manager is responsible for departmental customer service and coordination of office functions, including supervision of HR staff. Administers Leave of Absence Programs, Performance Evaluations, Tuition Reimbursement, and any special pay programs. Ensures survey/regulatory readiness at all times for regulatory agencies and internal audit. Tracks and audits licensure, certifications and all recurring requirements. Ensures initial evaluations are conducted for new employees. Manages and coordinates employee recognition programs and events. Assists CHRO with employee and labor relations issues and investigations. Ensures understanding and interpretation of policies, procedures, and programs to enhance management/staff relations. Listens to employee concerns and informs management of issues or concerns. Assists with Sierra Vista's labor relations' activity for all Collective Bargaining Agreements (SEIU-UHW and California Nurses Association). Works with all levels of management to assure the consistent application of Collective Bargaining Agreements. Responsible for providing HR leadership to department managers/directors, and directly assisting the CHRO in all areas. Consults with facility management to maintain standards for efficient, customer-driven service to departments, in all areas of HR services. Performs data entry, quality control and reporting within the HRIS system. Assists Centralized Recruitment with recruiting activities and onboarding. Responsible for New Employee Orientation. Oversees management of Allied Health and Contract Staff. Makes recommendations for changes in programs and evaluates the effectiveness of programs in place. Responsible for sending all staff communications and drafting communication documents for CHRO review.
Required Training/Education/Experience/Certification: Bachelor Degree. 3-5 years Human Resources experience with increasing responsibility. Must be able to type at least 50 WPM. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of federal and state leave laws and programs. Must meet physical and mental requirements as identified by the physical activity evaluation form.
Preferred Training/Education/Skill: PHR or SPHR Certification, Healthcare Experience
