Job Description:

The VP of Sales and Market Development is a key executive responsible for supporting the Company’s strategic vision and business plan. This position delivers sales and marketing expertise within the water treatment industry that contributes to the company's revenue and bottom line. This individual is directly responsible for the sales departments, as well as the marketing plan. They will create, develop, and execute the annual sales & marketing plans. They will develop, implement and support sales & marketing strategies and procedures, as well as manage resources and sales & marketing budgets. They are responsible for collaborating with the service department for planning and operations. The role will be based at Company headquarters in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Essential Functions

Leadership of Sales, Market Development Strategy

Direct the sales team and lead the development of a marketing plan ensuring that goals are consistently being met in an effective and efficient manner. Drive the team performance through leadership, vision, and motivation. Foster an environment that promotes, recognizes and rewards innovation. Ensure the team demonstrates Company core values and behaviors in all interactions and actions. Manage the sales teams, operations and resources to deliver profitable growth Define and coordinate sales training programs that enable staff to achieve their potential and support company sales objectives Define and oversee incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets From time to time assist management team with management of department staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific duties Customer Focus & Tactical Implementation

Manage the marketing & sales tactical plans in line with customer needs and the overall Company plans. Partner with various Company personnel to ensure a unified approach in implementing company business plans. Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology for taking water treatment processes and technologies to market Manage the sales pipeline and key customer relationships Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships Participate in the development of new project proposals Exceed customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction Represent the company at various community and/or business meetings to promote the company vision and mission Manage the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs Promote positive relations with stake holders, customers, partners, vendors, and distributors Research and develop strategies and plans which identify marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new product and project development. Supervise the planning and development of company marketing and communications materials Plan and coordinate public affairs, and communications efforts, to include public relations and community outreach. Work directly with all Company departments to manage customer expectations or issues Strategy, Analysis and Planning

Drive the sales and market development planning process ensuring thorough customer needs analysis, Company value proposition and detailed marketing and sales plans. Work with management to create, develop and execute the Company’s five-year plan Develop plans and implement strategies for developing business and achieving the Company’s sales goals within identified market segments Establish and implement departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures. Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs, and results Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting and reporting Compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions Develop and manage sales department budget Create, Develop and execute marketing plan on monthly, quarterly and annual basis Direct and oversee the company marketing function to identify and develop new customers for products and services within the water and waste water treatment industry. Lead the strategic development and planning of the Service Department Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, budgets, and procedures, conferring with staff members as necessary Create Service Department KPI’s and including assistance with service staff KPI’s Create, manage and maintain the Service Department Budget Work directly with all Company departments to manage customer expectations or issues Essential Skills and Experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience: Business and Technical Degree At least 3 years’ Experience managing high performing sales, marketing and/or customer service teams 3-5 years of experience in a technical sales environment. The ideal applicant with possess the following core competencies: Customer focused, ability to direct others and building effective teams. The ideal applicant will possess experience in the water treatment industry with a strong knowledge of industry markets, water treatment technologies and applications, customer service, and project management. Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency using the following Software: MS Suite, CSM, project management, familiarity with QuickBooks, Solid Works, Auto-Cad software
