qualified NICU RN in San Luis Obispo, California, 93405! Pay
Information $2,213 per week About The Position Job Title:

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in NICU License: Current RN license
in state of practice Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) -
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - Neonatal Resuscitation
Program (NRP) Must-Have: Previous NICU experience Description:
Provides planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to
patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on specified shifts.
Responsible for care planning, medication administration, and
noting physiological changes and psychosocial needs of neonates.
Education and training of the patient and their family is
essential. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to
ancillary personnel. Will be cross-trained and float to Pediatrics
as necessary. Deliver appropriate nursing interventions for both
stable and critically ill newborns. Competent in all routine
nursing skills including medication administration and intravenous
therapy. Maintains care of indwelling catheters and safe use of
medical equipment in the NICU environment. Demonstrates knowledge
and skills in managing neonates requiring mechanical ventilation
and other support devices. Accurately interprets hemodynamic
monitoring and effectively manages neonate's hemodynamic status.
Identifies abnormal lab values and notifies physician as
appropriate. Demonstrates appropriate clinical judgment in managing
life-threatening emergencies. Interprets ECG rhythm and provides
care during critical situations. Understands and follows chain of
command per policy. Knowledgeable in fluid and electrolyte
management and infant nutrition. Provides appropriate psychosocial
support to families throughout hospitalization. Initiates a
multidisciplinary family-centered care plan in collaboration with
the healthcare team. Educates families about the newborn's care,
both in-hospital and post-discharge. Completes legible, accurate,
and timely documentation of all nursing care provided. Performs
necessary safety quality control checks as required. Carries out
other job-related duties as assigned. Committed to the safety and
