Registered Nurse (RN) | Operating Room Location: Bakersfield, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $3,522 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 14 Weeks Start Date: 1/20/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified OR RN in Bakersfield, California, 93311! Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 14 weeks Shift: 8 Hour Days Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 3 years in an acute care setting License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience in all common case areas listed. - Proficiency in Robotics. - Must reside within a 30-minute radius due to on-call requirements. Description: Required to work in an Operating Room setting with an average of 8-30 cases per day. Five surgical suites available. Common cases include orthopedic surgeries such as total knees, hips, and shoulders. Additional orthopedic procedures include knee and shoulder scopes and total shoulder arthroplasties. Urology procedures include cystoscopies, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsies, TURPs, penile prostheses, orchiectomies, and open prostate surgeries. GYN surgeries include hysterectomies, D&C, slings, robotic hysterectomies, and GYN oncology procedures. Neurosurgery involves orthopedic spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomies, subdural hematomas, transsphenoidal tumor surgeries, and VP shunt placements. Involvement in other specialties such as hands, podiatry, Da Vinci procedures, small vascular surgeries, general surgery, ENT, pediatrics ENT, bariatrics, and ophthalmic surgeries. Scrubbing for surgeries is preferred but not required. One scheduled Charge Nurse or House Supervisor available each weekday. Available OR techs to assist during procedures. Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner Surginet. Shifts may vary; can include 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts starting at 7:00 AM. There is a forced call list for rare occasions where staff may be unavailable. Weeknight on-call requirement is one night per week from 7:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Weekend requirements include being on-call for two weekend days each month. Must schedule for one major holiday and one minor holiday. On-call response time is 30 minutes. Floating may occur to a facility approximately 6.5 miles away. Current construction may cause noise around the operating room until estimated completion in 2027. The facility can cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment.
