Job Description Job Summary: Leads front-line nurses and ancillary staff in providing safe, whole-person care that maximizes patient independence. Maintains a visible presence on the unit and collaborates with staff, charge nurses, physicians, and department leaders to ensure efficient clinical operations and high satisfaction among patients, families, and staff. Supervises various levels of nursing personnel and coordinates daily activities on assigned shifts to meet unit and organizational goals. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s in nursing or equivalent: Required; Master’s: Preferred Five years of technical experience: Preferred One year of leadership experience: Preferred Two years of acute care nursing in a hospital: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure: Required CPR or BLS certification: Preferred Specialty certification in nursing or administration: Preferred Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP): Required Essential Functions: Builds a high-performing clinical team by recruiting skilled staff and fostering communication. Sets goals for patient safety and quality care. Conducts daily rounds with staff and coordinates patient and family care. Assesses unit staffing needs, approves overtime, and manages schedules. Facilitates patient throughput, maintains department safety, and participates in emergency preparedness. Performs additional duties as assigned.
