Nights, EOW, first to float Description: Unit Notes:Managers will
do interviewThis is a Nurse Shift Manager position. Traveler must
have strong Charge RN experience, or management experience. Nurse
Shift Managers (NSMs) will take patients and provide direct patient
care when necessary. While the Charge Nurse is typically the first
to take on patient assignments, NSMs will also fulfill the Charge
Nurse role and manage the department. They are expected to assist
with patient care as needed, including triaging ambulance patients,
starting IVs, and administering medications, etc. Essentially, NSMs
will provide support wherever it is required within the
department.\"- beds21 (Fast track staffed with midlevel's &
LVNs)-CertsBLS, ACLS, PALS, & NIHSS are required-Ratios1 to 4
unless ICU patient would be 1 to 2-EMRCerner-Charge NurseShift
manager & a resource nurse -Nurse AidesED Techs are EMT or aides
from other units-Weekend Requirement\"4 weekend shifts in a 4-week
schedule-Weekends are Fri/Sat for nights & Sat/Sun for
days\"-Holidays1 major & 1 minor-Scrub ColorNavy blue. If you wear
a scrub jacket it also must be navy. If you wear an undershirt
underneath your scrub top it must be navy, white, or
black.-Tele-Phillips-Vents-Yes-Hospitalist or Intensivist in house-
Yes - only use MD's in the ER-IV Team - No-RT 24/7- Yes-Pharmacy
24/7- Yes & Omnicell-Shifts- 12's Self-scheduling but not finalized
until the manager balances it. Schedules are for 4 weeks. Block
scheduling is not allowed-Floating- Floating could happen between
the 2 facilities to the ER. If floated prior to shift, would get a
2 hour notice prior start. Mid-shift floating could happen. The
facilities are only 6.5 miles apart.- Call - if put on stand
by/call, traveler must report within 30 mins-Floor specific
orientation- 2 shifts at the primary campus & 1 shift at the other
campus-Common diagnosis / Types of patient s-Typical ER patients.
Some days they have MedSurg Tele holds in the ER. ER Nurses will be
expected to take these patients. -Additional Notes- They are a
Primary Stroke Center. They rarely hold \"5150 psych holds\" longer
than 12 hours. They utilize the MET Team (Mobile Eval Team). Could
see 115 patients one day than 175 patients the next day. This must
be their primary job. They will not work around another work
schedule to accommodate hours. Must be very teamwork oriented.
Cancellation can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3
shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks (Hospital may
also pay full hours for a particular shift, in lieu of
cancellation). Charting BSN License to Trauma Level: Care Shift ,
EOW, first to float Required , BLS Certification, NIHSS, PALS
