Job Title: Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech)\nJob
Summary:\nA Mammography Technologist is responsible for operating
specialized imaging equipment to perform diagnostic mammograms for
the detection of breast cancer and other abnormalities. This role
includes patient preparation, image acquisition, quality control,
and maintaining compliance with state and federal
regulations.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nPatient Care &
Preparation\n\nGreet and prepare patients for procedures\n\nExplain
procedures and answer patient questions to ensure comfort and
cooperation\n\nTake patient medical histories relevant to the
mammogram procedure\n\nMammogram Imaging\n\nOperate mammography
equipment to obtain high-quality images\n\nPosition patients
correctly to capture clear and accurate images\n\nMonitor image
quality and retake images if necessary\n\nSafety &
Compliance\n\nFollow radiation safety guidelines and ALARA
principles\n\nMaintain compliance with FDA MQSA (Mammography
Quality Standards Act) regulations\n\nKeep accurate records of
procedures performed\n\nEquipment Maintenance & Quality
Control\n\nPerform daily, weekly, and monthly quality control
checks\n\nReport equipment malfunctions and assist with
maintenance\n\nEnsure equipment is calibrated and functioning
according to standards\n\nTeamwork & Communication\n\nCollaborate
with radiologists and healthcare providers for image review and
diagnosis\n\nDocument findings and maintain detailed patient
records\n\nParticipate in continuing education and training
sessions\n\nQualifications:\nEducation: Graduate of an accredited
radiologic technology program\n\nCertification: Registered with the
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography
(R) and Mammography (M)\n\nExperience: Previous experience in
mammography preferred but not always required\n\nSkills: Strong
interpersonal skills, attention to detail, technical proficiency
with imaging equipment\n\nLicensure & Certification by State (as of
latest available data):\nMost states require licensure or
certification for mammography technologists, often through ARRT
credentials and additional state-specific
