Software Development Engineer in Test

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) serves as a bridge
between the developers and the QA Analyst who performs manual
functional testing. The SDET writes code to automate test cases and
increase the test coverage of the software we produce. The SDETs
primary goal is to increase the velocity of software releases while
ensuring we release high quality software.
Writes automation tests that test the functionality of websites and
Updates the automation suite when functionality is changed or
enhanced to ensure previously written tests still accomplish their
Creates load tests to benchmark performance and track performance
changes between releases and infrastructure changes.
Reviews design specifications to understand the scope,
requirements, and function of the
Identifies appropriate parameters, functions, and data to test and
validate; parameters may
include general function, validity of results, accuracy,
reliability, and compliance with industry
Participates in peer reviews of all testing related code and offers
feedback to the other
developers who contribute to the automation testing code base.
Resolves any issues related to the performance of the automation
suite so that the automation
suite can perform its role optimally.
Works with the QA Analyst to select manual test cases for
When a product does not perform within specifications, reports
defects to developers while
identifying and recommending solutions, improvements, and
Cultivates a synergistic relationship with developers and other QA
Performs other duties as assigned.
Strong knowledge of at least one major programming language (e.g.
PHP, C#, Java, Python),
Experience with automated functional GUI test tools (e.g.
Strong knowledge of software quality assurance best practices and
Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC),
agile development practices,
and Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD).

Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.
