Job Description:
We're looking for a Software Development Manager to lead the
TriPOD team within MOD Tech, part of the Kindle Ingestion
Experience (KIX) organization. TriPOD owns end-to-end content
ingestion technology for Print on Demand (POD) across both Kindle
Direct Publishing (KDP) and Kindle Enterprise Publishing (KEP),
serving independent authors and enterprise publishers worldwide.
The team also owns the backend for Look Inside the Book (LITB), the
feature that lets customers preview and search books on Amazon. Key
job responsibilities As the engineering leader for TriPOD, you will
manage a team of ~20 engineers across three squads (SPOON, FoRK,
and KNIFE), plus support engineering and QA. You'll own the
technical direction, team health, and delivery for systems that
span content ingestion, book metadata, royalty processing,
accounting, reporting, and international marketplace expansion. You
will partner closely with Product, TPM, and business leadership to
set the team's strategy and ensure we continue to deliver the best
publishing experience for authors and publishers globally. A day in
the life - Lead, coach, and grow a team of SDEs - Own the technical
vision and roadmap for POD publishing infrastructure, working
closely with Product, TPM, and business stakeholders - Drive
operational excellence for systems that directly impact
author/publisher revenue (royalty processing, accounting, payments)
- Partner with POD manufacturing systems, fulfillment networks, and
financial/payments systems to ensure reliable end-to-end data flow
- Improve publishing workflows that pushes POD data to Amazon
Detail Pages and catalog/inventory systems - Champion best
practices including code quality, testing, operational readiness,
and on-call health - Collaborate with peer SDMs to align on
org-wide technical strategy - 3 years of engineering team
management experience - 7 years of working directly within
engineering teams experience - 3 years of designing or architecting
(design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing
systems experience - 8 years of leading the definition and
development of multi tier web services experience - Knowledge of
engineering practices and patterns for the full
software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding
standards, code reviews, source control management, build
processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations -
Experience partnering with product or program management teams -
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and
senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software
product features, technical designs, and product strategy -
Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing
teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them

this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include
sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final
compensation will be determined based on factors including
experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers
