Inc. (ESAero) is a growing aerospace company in the San Luis Obispo
area that provides various services including but not limited to:
rapid system development, on-demand niche engineering, hands-on
development/testing, electrified aircraft propulsion expertise, and
small UAS aerospace system manufacturing. Job Summary:ESAero is
seeking a High Voltage Power System Architect to join our team in
San Luis Obispo, CA. As High Voltage Power System Architect, you
will define the architecture of the electric vehicle power supply
system, high-voltage distribution, and power electronics for unique
electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) and hybrid-electric
aircraft configurations. Leading the vehicle power system team, you
will oversee the design, integration, test and validation of the
electrical power system to allow for flight
certification.Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist in the development and
documentation of the vehicle power system requirementsLead the
system architecture design of the vehicle power system:High voltage
and low voltage DC interfacing for aircraft systems according to
aerospace standards -Circuit protection including isolation,
redundancy, and fault tolerance for flight systemsThermal
managementSystem performanceLead the detailed development and
implementation of the vehicle power system:Schematic DesignPCB
LayoutSystem IntegrationLead the verification and validation of the
vehicle power systemCoordinate with test team to design, test, and
troubleshoot high voltage and low voltage system hardwarePresent
results of your work with technical drawings, written reports, and
oral presentations to customer and senior project
management.Required Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical
Engineering or related field3+ years of relevant Electrical Power
Engineering experience or equivalentExperience with high power and
voltage (Primarily DC) power distribution system theory, modeling,
control, design, and analysisExperience with high voltage
electrical implementation, tests, and verification for
vehiclesFamiliar designing and integrating circuit protection for
flight and safety critical systemsFamiliar with power conversion
implementation, test, and verificationFamiliar with developing
thermal management solutions for high power electrical
systemsWilling to relocate to San Luis Obispo, CADesired
Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Electrical
Engineering or equivalent 5-10+ years of Electrical Power
Engineering experience or equivalentExperience designing to FAA
standards including DO-160, DO-311A, DO-178, and DO-254Expertise
with design and qualification of up to 1000 VDC systemsExperience
with -integrating high -voltage/power -systems in electric
-vehicles -Experience with full life-cycle of power distribution
system development, qualification, production, and product
supportExperience with Fly-By-Wire (FBW) vehicle systemsExperience
with lighting, HIRF, magnetic effect, voltage spike, and
susceptibility testing; proficiency in E3 qualification standards
and testingExperience with life and degradation modeling of power
systemsExperience with thermal management sizing and design for
power systemsExperience with Altium and SolidWorksExperience in
testing including instrumentation, data acquisition, and
documenting and analyzing results.Experience with knowledge of OSHA
medium voltage safety standards.Experience with use and
applications of batteries in -high power applications -such as
-motors. -Familiarity with Altium, Familiarity -with MATLAB,
