The Security Engineer performs an evaluation of security products against the US Common Criteria Scheme (NIAP). This includes authoring security documentation, evaluating product designs and performing product testing. A Sr. Security Engineer is able to work independently and performs assigned trusted product evaluation tasks in accordance with the UL and NIAP technical procedures. - As a senior member of the team Sr. Security Engineer provides technical leadership and expertise. - - - JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: -

• Perform security evaluation activities as needed including presentations to customers. - -
• Perform consulting and GAP analysis with regards to evaluation requirements. -
• Design and prepare instructions, procedures, tools and methods for conducting security evaluations -
• Perform technical training of assigned staff and modification of equipment, methods or procedures -
• Mentor more junior security engineers in the performance of security evaluations. - -
• Perform senior technical review activities for security evaluations -
• Maintain/improve technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, participating in professional societies and cross-departmental task forces as needed. -
  • University Degree (Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree), preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Software, Security or a technically related discipline and 5+ years of related experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Common Criteria and the ability to present to customers and certification authorities. -
  • Proven experience in customer-facing advisory services, technical expertise, and communication skills -
  • Able to quickly adapt to various technical and organizational environments, and ability to coach other team members -
  • Functional testing experience/expertise -
  • Experience setting up networks and familiarity with IP addressing schemes. - -
  • Knowledge of common security related protocols and their design (i.e. SSH, IPsec, TLS, etc.) - -
  • Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and encryption modes - -
  • Software development experience is a plus -
  • Security certifications (SEcurity+, CCNA, etc.) is a plus -
  • Vulnerability Analysis and/or penetration testing experience is a plus. -

    • Total Rewards: The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $120,000 of the salary range and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position. All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation. - The target for this position is 10% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level. - - We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours). - Working at UL is an exciting journey that twists and turns daily.
