Job Description Summary
Selected applicants will be interviewed to establish a pool of
approved Auto Body instructors for possible part-time teaching
assignments in the Engineering Division. Applicants must meet the
minimum qualifications for Auto Body (see below).
The successful candidate(s) will join a department dedicated to the
use of curriculum responsive to the students it serves.
Providing instruction in Automotive Collision Repair Technology on
the San Luis Obispo Main College campus and/or at off-site
community campus locations, the instructor will be responsible

Essential Functions & Qualifications
Required:
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two years of
professional experience directly related to the teaching
assignment;
OR
-Associate's degree from an accredited institution and six years of
professional experience directly related to the teaching
assignment;
OR
-The equivalent. (Candidates applying on the basis of equivalency
must submit all materials requested for an equivalency judgment.

OR
-A valid Community College credential in the discipline (If
received prior to 1990, as the credential is no longer being
issued).
Also Required:
-Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic,
socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of
community college students.
Desirable:
-Teaching experience in the discipline, community college level
preferred;
-Awareness of the philosophy and objectives of California Community
Colleges.

Cuesta College's current insurance rates can be viewed on our
Insurance/Benefits website:
A faculty member who is employed for less than 40% of the assigned
time of a full-time faculty member is not eligible to participate
in or to receive a District contribution toward the medical
insurance benefit program.
The District fringe benefit contribution can be found on the
Insurance/Benefits website:
All regular full-time faculty members and full-time temporary
faculty members are required to enroll in at least the minimum
medical coverage. Every new regular full-time faculty
member/full-time temporary faculty member must enroll when they are
first eligible, which is the first of the month following their
date of hire.
A part-time faculty member who is eligible, but does not wish to
participate in the District's medical insurance benefit program
must complete a Declination of Coverage form.
A faculty member whose monthly cost for insurance exceeds the
District's contribution is required to pay the additional cost by
payroll deduction.
