Pay Basis Monthly Pay Plan Academic Year Position Description HISTORY-PART-TIME LECTURER POOL. The History Department, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, California is seeking applications for a pool of part-time lecturers. Positions are available as determined by need and funding during the Fall, Winter, and/or Spring quarters of the 2018-2019 academic year, which begins September 13, 2018. Duties may include teaching general education (GE) and lower-division survey classes in U.S., world, and European history; GE political economy courses (e.g., HIST 213 - Modern Political Economy); and/or upper-division GE and major courses in U.S., European, Asian, African, and Latin American history. Minimum Qualifications (Staff Only) Required Qualifications / Specialized Skills ABD in History or related discipline and university teaching experience required. Preferred Qualifications / Skills Ph.D. in History preferred. Special Conditions (Staff) Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
