Our San Luis Obispo, CA office has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Transportation Project Manager. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior level individual to participate in helping our current clients and building new relationships through business development.

Responsibilities of the position are but are not limited to:

• Project Delivery/ Management of complex transportation projects
• Leading transportation design projects and team(s)
• Supporting business development on behalf of GHD, position for new work and secure projects
• Managing sub consultants
• Client Relations
• Managing and mentoring staff The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:
  • Proven excellence at all stages of the project life-cycle, from preparing bids to feasibility studies, consenting, detailed design and data analysis, and partner management
  • Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial competence, including identifying, assessing, evaluating and solving problems to brief and budget
  • Robust written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely
  • A curiosity about coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team capabilities
  • Demonstrated portfolio of municipal infrastructure, transportation & site development projects within Central California
  • Strong foundation across multiple software design platforms - including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, would be ideal
  • Experience and familiarity with Caltrans and other agency standards is required.
  • Strong teammate, with the ability to work independently when required, cooperative in open sharing of information and knowledge with team
  • An interest in coaching and mentoring to technically strengthen the team capabilities.
  • Good time management ability, ability to handle conflicting priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments - Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
    • Registered Civil Engineer in the State of California
    • 10+ years of experience with solid technical knowledge and skills across the transportation & site development industry, including a strong background in planning & design; construction experience a plus
